On April 13, 2013, the Jackson Township First Aid Squad held a 'coin toss' at the Van Hiseville intersection (the corner of East Veteran's Highway and Bennett's Mills Road) to raise money for new stretchers sorely needed by the Squad. Through the efforts of the members and the generosity of the Jackson community, approximately $2,850 was raised in about four hours of fundraising, bringing the Squad a third of the way to affording its equipment upgrades.
The Jackson Township First Aid Squad responded to 145 calls in February 2013, bringing the year to date total to 320 emergency calls. Over 75 patients were transported to area hospitals by the Squad in February.
On Sunday, February 24, the Jackson First Aid Squad, along with the Jackson Township Police and representatives from each of Jackson's four Fire Districts, welcomed home the Jackson Liberty HS Lions Cheerleaders, fresh from their championship performance at the Reach the Beach competition in Ocean City Maryland. In the early morning hours of February 18, 2013, the Jackson First Aid Squad was dispatched to a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Jackson Mills Rd. and N. County Line Road. Ambulance 225 responded, and found the vehicle to have rolled over with a heavily entrapped patient inside. With the assistance of Jackson Mills Fire Department units, the patient was extricated and transported to the hospital by 225 and MONOC Paramedic Unit 204.
As snow fell on Jackson during the night of February 8-9, 2013, the Jackson Township First Aid Squad stood ready to deliver ambulance service to the people of Jackson, with three ambulances and two first responder vehicles staffed. The Jackson Township First Aid Squad responded to 175 calls in January, 2013, and transported over 100 patients to local hospitals. This included 10 motor vehicle accidents, as well as other serious medical complaints such as difficulty breathing and unconsciousness.
