The Jackson Township First Aid Squad joined the Jackson Police Department and the township's fire departments, along with many local businesses, in celebrating the National Night Out on August 6 at the Shoprite on County Line Road.
More than 15 squad members participated. The Squad joined the Jackson Mills Fire Company, Station 54, in a demonstration of auto extrication. JMFC demonstrated a variety of extrication equipment, removing the doors from the car, before the Squad used a backboard and other equipment to remove the occupant from the car.
The Squad's new ambulance - 226 - was on display, and Squad members answered questions, demonstrated CPR, and even handled the occasional need for minor first aid (helping make a skinned knee feel better). The Cadet Corps offered free blood pressure screenings to members of the local community.
