This past weekend, three EMTs from Jackson Township EMS attended the Tactical and Medical Management of Operational K9s course hosted by AMU K9 at the Ocean County Training Center.
This intensive two-day program brought together EMS providers for a combination of classroom instruction, hands-on skill stations, and realistic scenario-based training focused on treating injured or ill working K9s.
AMU K9’s mission centers on providing cutting-edge, field-ready medical training, blending the latest advancements in veterinary medicine with practical techniques designed for high-pressure environments.
Participants are trained to deliver life-saving care in real-world conditions, ensuring they can act decisively when seconds matter whether treating a handler or their K9 partner.
With the Jackson Township Police Department now operating two K9 units, we believe it is critical that our providers are equally prepared to care for these highly trained K9’s.
